Volkswagen Terrafine Is A Vehicle Designed To Run On Any Terrain Without The “Bad Boy” Feeling



Niklas Palm found his inspiration in the design of Chris Craft’s boats and the American east coast. He created a vehicle that allows the driver to run on any terrain without leaving marks, as a traditional off-road vehicle would do. The traditional off-road digs its way up the hill, scratches the rocks and especially pollutes nature due to its internal combustion engine. The name of the Terrafine comes from its actual capability to keep the earth fine. Because of its shape and suspension system don’t affect rocks and ground. The main idea of the concept was to create a vehicle that could do less damage, even none at all, to the environment is driving in.
The incredible suspension system allows the Terrafine to climb any obstacle, adjust height and even to tilt the vehicle forward for a better view. Due to its uncommon suspension the ride feels like is not on the ground, but on water. In the creating process the designer, Niklas Palm, found an interesting way to create a paper model of the body. The idea came to him during a visit to the 2008 Paris Motor Show, where he found the Renault Ondilious, the front grill of the car inspired him in the way to produce the paper model. The concept is fitted with an electric engine giving the vehicle an extra point for being Eco-friendly. The shape of the vehicle and the simple yet complex suspension, the rimless wheels and the roof free body make the Terrafine an extremely light vehicle. This important weight loss allows the driver to ride without leaving such a long lasting foot print on the environment it goes in.

Mercedes Arrow Is A Lightweight Two-Seater Vehicle Gives You The Feeling Of Sliding With A Bobsleigh



Mercedes Arrow has been designed to draw a comparison with other recreational vehicles such as motorcycles, jetskis or personalized aircraft. This stunning vehicle gives its passengers the ride of their life. The bobsleigh shaped body, the lightweight materials and the sporty look enable it to shoot through heavy traffic like an arrow from a bow. This experience can only be enjoyed by two passengers, their seats are placed one in front of another. One of the stunning features this futuristic car has, is that it combines TANDEM with MAGLEV technology to take sharp corners. This innovative feature allows the body of the car to tilt left and right when the car is taking corners, thus minimizing the wheels tilt angle. There is an almost non-existing chance for the vehicle to slide out of control. Due to the slim body, the wheels cover the same space of tarmac, just as a contemporary car, eliminating the risk of the car flipping over. The designer, Felipe Palermo, found inspiration in the old Silver Arrows, the SLR McLaren and the 1954 Gull-Wing.

Eos Triton : The Automatic Individual Car Of The Future



This futuristic car with the form of a shell is the proposal of the designer Priyanka Martin to personal transportation for the year 2025. The Eos Triton is an individual transportation unit inspired by a shell, so it can protect its passenger while travelling comfortably and it saves spaces on the roads and parking lots.
The car will drive automatically by an integrated system therefore accidents and traffic jams will be far less common. Using this system, the passenger just needs to input the destination, while the Eos Triton searches the fastest and safest way to reach it. During the journey, the passenger can relax and use the travelling time for other things like surfing the net, reading a book, taking a nap, etc…
This vehicle also uses just one wheel, balancing itself thanks to a gyroscope. Also, depending on the development of alternative fuels in the next years it will be adjusted to use electricity or fuel cells.

The front and rear lights seem an extension of this inspiration. The glass roof is an extension of the windscreen and looks very stylish. Myung Jin Jung, who is studying in car design course of Hongik University, has designed the Honda Zeppelin, a luxurious futuristic sedan car as his final year thesis. As the name suggests, this splendid car was partially inspired by airships. The mass impression of this car was achieved by combining soft volume elements of an airship and potent lines that are commonly found in luxurious automobiles. The symmetric styling of this Honda Zeppelin is an extraordinary feature which can run from the hood, down the roofline and the entire rear end. Slit-like windscreen is another exclusive feature of this car. There is an inclusive video display inside the car which will allow the driver a greater field-of-vision.

The Vision EfficientDynamics is a concept vehicle for future by BMW which is a low carbon hybrid supercar aiming to achieve the premium end of the auto market with its fuel-efficient design. A three-cylinder turbodiesel engine is empowering this vehicle supported by a couple of electric motors. This car can go 0-100 kilometers per hour in just 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 250 kmph and consumes 3.76 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers. It features an electric mode for day to day use that can be charged through plug-in module. The vehicle stores the power it lithium polymer cells, allowing it to drive for roughly 50km on a single charge, which can be extended through its regenerative breaking system.

Nowadays gadgets, objects and even vehicles have a very short lifespan, we always want more things and get them cheaper and faster. We don’t realize all the waste, garbage and pollution created by this behavior until we start suffering the consequences with the economical crisis and global warming.
The designer of this small eco-car named Ben, proposes with his MDes major project, a car that is more than just a mode of transport, more than something we use until is broken or exhausted. It’s meant to be an object with “personality” and its own identity. Not something we just use, but something to trust and to look after. The idea is to create a car that can be “adopted” as your pal or a member of your family, giving it even your surname.
Ben, with a smaller size than a Fiat 500 and space for 4 adults, is meant to be a fresh, urban small car. Also it’s gentle with the environment thanks to its 300V lithium-ion battery that powers the 2 Michelin active-wheel hub motors creating a combined engine with 81 horsepower.

Flavio Adriani, the designer, created the Lamborghini Concept EV as a tribute to the man who changed everything about sportcars, Ferrucio Lamborghini. The design, the lines, the impact of the car derive from a beautiful, almost perfect combination of the Diablo and Gallardo. The concept is not just about passion for Lamborghini, it also is equipped with the latest technology regarding the drive train, pollution, energy saving and passenger safety. The car has an electric drive train, there are 4 electric engines in each of the 4 wheels. The energy this engine needs to operate is gathered with the solar panels placed over the engine compartment. These panels are V shaped, giving the car a more aggressive look, it’s like the whole car says: “Eat my dust!”. The designer also fitted a panel protecting passengers against low frequency radiation. This radiation comes from mobile phones, antennas and other wireless devices. These radiations have proven to be dangerous to human health bringing headaches, cancer and more.
For Flavio Adriani, the greatest challenge designing this electric Lamborghini was, how to bring the amazing sound of the engine that has been removed. The solution he found are wind turbines. The air enters the tubes through the front bumper and makes its way to the central turbine which gives it a jet engine sound. Imagine driving this staggering car in an ordinary city and every time you pass people by, they look up, trying to scout an airplane. That would be a beautiful feeling, driving a car with such an impressive history and passion within, that also sounds as an airplane. ( Futuristic Car )
